about

Written by Rabbi Michael Lerner, performed by Sharon Abreu and Michael Hurwicz.

"Irthlingz", Sharon Abreu and Mike Hurwicz, met at the People's Voice coffeehouse in New York City and quickly learned they shared a love for songwriting, social justice, and singing in harmony. They had the privilege of singing in concert with Pete Seeger. In 2002, they started Irthlingz Arts-Based Environmental Education to inspire and empower people to be stewards of the Earth. Sharon & Mike brought their music to the U.N. Commission on Sustainable Development and the World Summit on Sustainable Development in South Africa. They're part of the SingPeace! Pilgrimage for Peace and Global Harmony, and members of the NSP. (They sing in several languages, which come together in the universal language of the heart.) After reading Rabbi Lerner's book The Left Hand of God, Sharon was inspired to capture the essence of the book in a song.
